Life really is too short. When you’re a kid, you can’t wait to grow up. When you become an adult, you regret wishing for time to go faster. One thing is certain, though…we are all looking for something that makes us happy.

For my family, our happy place is on the road. We really are at peace when we are traveling and/or camping. The minute we take off in our camper van, our pace slows down. All of the hurry we usually feel just melts away. All we need to have a perfect getaway is a quiet campsite, a good fishing spot, and some cool Fall weather!

Of course, back roads are the best. Narrow dirt paths are even better. So many of our favorite spots have been found by accident! We live in Northeastern Oklahoma, so we know that area very well. There are several beautiful state parks in our area. We don’t get away often enough, but when we do, we enjoy the time we have.

I hope you can find something that makes you happy. Whether it’s a two-week vacation to the South of France or a long soak in a tub with a glass of wine, find your happy place. Don’t forget to bring a good book!
